View looking backwards out of a Command Module window (possibly Apollo 6) during re-entry. The clip starts with the sunlight catching the window frame and then catches the limb of the Earth on the right before we see the super-heated trails of plasma licking in vortices around the capsule and trailing back into the dark black sky as the capsule hurtles into the Earth's upper atmosphere. The green and blue colours are caused by the different atoms of nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere. About one and a half minutes into the clip the capsule rolls over and the view of the Earth moves from top of frame to bottom. Vibrations inside the capsule are witnessed as it is buffeted by this high speed flight through the atmosphere. Date recorded: 1968-04-04 to 1968-04-04
